A devastating winter storm swept through Kentucky on January 24-25, 2026, resulting in at least 11 confirmed deaths. The victims ranged in age from 48 to 78 years old, spread across multiple counties including Whitley, Morgan, Jefferson, Pulaski, Graves, Daviess, Johnson, Owen, and Livingston counties.
Causes of death included hypothermia, falls on ice, and at least one heart attack. Governor Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency, and President Trump approved an emergency disaster declaration, making federal aid immediately available.
## How to Help
Families of the deceased will receive up to $10,000 from the Team Kentucky Emergency Relief Fund toward funeral costs. The state activated emergency resources including the Kentucky National Guard and established warming centers.
